Sunday morning Scott and I got up and got the kids breakfast and, since we had cleaned up the house Saturday, had nothing to do so we went back to sleep. It turns out that once you leave the bed, the children will not leave you alone no matter how much you tell them too. We blew off Owen's attempt to put all 420 of his legos in bed with us. We also ignored Haley when she came in babbling something about Owen doing something blah blah blah. (that turned out to be a bad move, as there was chocolate milk all over the carpet when we got up because he can get the lids off sippy cups now with his super human strength coupled with his wrist twisting ability)
We finally gave up when we were awakened by all sorts of screams and kids jumping right beside the bed, yelling things like "I just pulled a tooth out of my head!" and "Ashlyn's mouth is bleeding all over the place!" and "Ash-Ewww! Boo-Boo!"
Sunday night after her bath she got her tooth all ready and this morning she found that she got another dollar from the tooth fairy. She immediately decided to take it to school with her so she could buy ice cream after lunch in an effort to rot the rest of her teeth so they will fall out and she can get more dollars. It's such a vicious cycle.
I must say that this newly lost tooth has taken our parenting skills to new levels, because we now have the ability to threaten like never before--Ashlyn has been warned that all bad behavior from her will result in us feeding her nothing but corn on the cob.
